Idaho 4-H Wool
Contest 
The Promotion Division of the Idaho Wool Growers offers awards to Idaho
4-H members who make garments from wool fabric or yarn at the Basic and Advanced
levels. Contestants will participate in judging at the county on construction
and fit (style revue or interview) and at the state level on construction and
their Wool Contest Portfolio. Basic Level participants must be age 12-16 years
of age as of January 1 of the year they will compete. Advanced Level
participants must be at least 14 and not have reached their 19th
birthday by January 1 of the year they compete. Participants must be enrolled in a 4-H
project where they construct or make a garment using a minimum 60% wool blend fabric or yarn; and receive a
blue ribbon
in construction and fit-interview or style revue at the county level.
Basic Level Awards:
District Level: The first place winner in each district
will receive a $25 award
State Level: The first place over-all winner will
receive an additional $100
award
Advanced Level Awards:
District Level: The top scoring entry from each
District will receive a $100 award
State Level: The first place winner will receive an
additional $600
The second place winner will receive a $300 award
The third place winner will receive a $150 award
State Contest judging will be held in District IV the first week in November.
District and State winners will be announced and displayed at the 2007 Idaho
Wool Growers annual meeting in November.

District Contact in your District.
Enter your garment/outfit for judging at the county level.
County Extension Offices will notify the District Contacts of the names
of those individuals who have qualified to enter the State Contest.
The District Contact will send you the
"Idaho Wool
Contest Guidelines and Portfolio/Entry Packet" or it may be downloaded
here. The Portfolio/Entry Packet
must accompany the garment when submitted for state judging.
