Goals of 4-H Global Education

The ultimate objective of 4-H global education programming is “peace through understanding”.

Global education will encourage individuals to:

¨      Realize the importance of caring about how different countries and people of the world interrelate.

¨      Develop positive global attitudes and skills that enhance mutual understanding and acceptance.

¨      Appreciate the similarities and differences within their own family, and between U.S. families and families around the world.

¨      Assume their global citizenship responsibilities in today’s interdependent world.

Global education will also provide learning experiences through which individuals:

¨      Develop a more accurate understanding of their values and ways of life.

¨      Increase acceptance and appreciation of people from other ethnic, social and economic backgrounds within the United States.

¨      Build constructive communications among different ethnic, social and economic groups within the United States.
