Cooper “Whitey” and Leona Fletcher Memorial Scholarship

A $1000 college scholarship is available to graduating 4-H members from District IV (Bannock, Bear Lake, Bonneville, Caribou, Clark, Fort Hall, Franklin, Fremont, Jefferson, Madison, Oneida, Power, Teton Counties) and Butte, Custer, and Lemhi Counties, who have been in 4-H at least 5 years. Leadership and 4-H achievement in Horse projects shall be the primary consideration. Community involvement, academic achievement and financial need are secondary considerations. Applicants must have a High School G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. Students must attend an Idaho sponsored college or university.

“Whitey” and Leona Fletcher were residents of Butte City, Idaho and enjoyed assisting high school students who were involved in rodeo, cutting horse show competition, and related programs such as 4-H horse projects.

The scholarship will be granted as $400.00 for the first semester. Upon completion of the first semester with at least a 2.5 G.P.A., the remaining $600 will be issued. Student will need to notify the State 4-H office of college enrollment and completion of first semester in order to receive the funds.
